It was all about Adam...

...and rightly so!

I just got home from an emotional baby shower/brunch for his mother, our niece, Suzanne. It was planned long before he was born.
Adam was born Feb. 26, but he wasn't due until May 23...thankfully he is gaining weight and doing well.

Kid One was able to come with me, which I was happy about. We had a great time, hearing about Adam's progress and watching Sue open a pile of gifts for him, including clothes (some of them featuring logos from dad's favorite teams, the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox), a diaper bag, linens, bath items, toys and two car seats.
Sue even got a gift certificate for a massage. She was thrilled, because she has never had one.

Sue is so grateful for everyone's love and support and she expressed it beautifully. We all had tears in our eyes when she opened a blanket made by her cousins. Actually they completed the blanket that had been started by their grandmother, who died in November. There wasn't a dry eye in the house, I daresay.

As for Adam, the doctors have said he could come home as early as April 26. We hope that is the case for mom and dad. They have been through so much.
They are indeed fortunate to be surrounded by a loving family and many friends.

Sounds like a nice party for Mom and little Adam . . . I hope he does come home when they are projecting. That would be wonderful for them all.

I'm so glad the shower was a huge success and that your niece had such a wonderful time...she certainly deserves it. I'm hoping that Adam continues to progress quickly and that, by the end of April, you will all be celebrating his homecoming.

How wonderful that you were able to continue to celebrate Adam at his baby shower. It will be wonderful for everyone when Adam is brought home and, he and his parents, are able to use all of the new gifts. Can you ask whoever gave Sue the gift certificate for the massage, if they want to be in my family??? I could really use one!

Sue got the massage gift certificate from a co-worker.
That was so thoughtful, wasn't it?
