Mozzarella and me

I'm a lucky lady. Ralph likes to cook and create in the kitchen. He's doing so now, making an Italian-style salad with tomatoes and basil from our (tiny) garden.
He knew I was getting hungry, so he just rolled in here with a slice of salami wrapped around chunks of cow's milk mozzarella. I didn't even have to ask...

Ah, the simple things.

The simple things are really the best, aren't they?

Hey, Patti!

(Excuse me for taking up fresh comment space, but I don't see an email address, or else I would email you there.)

You comment had me a bit worried:
...I don't usually talk about standup, sex or any of them there big city themes...

which made me think that you live in a hole somewhere in the middle of nowhere, with no interaction with a society, which does in fact talk about "big city things."

But then I read that your profile:

Industry: Communications or Media
Occupation: Journalist
Location: Connecticut : United States

So you're a journalist. Journalists, have the biggest vocabulary usage out of any profession. That's documented. They obviously have to be "informed." And they need to have the stamina and open mind to be presented anything (in their line of work) and not be daunted by it. They still have to be able to write intelligently on the subject, which requires research and which leads to exposing oneself to the issue at hand.

Plus, you're in Connecticutt, which isn't too small town, last I checked.

I understand that the name of your blog is, Late Bloomer Boomer, but that doesn't mean you have to stop being exposed to things that are outside of your normal reach.

PLUS, you run a blog, which is "Big City," by definition. Computers, technology, etc. not found in the backwaters of Mississippi.

I would be extremely grateful if you read my post on Metabigotry in Comedy. You strike me as the type that perhaps have never had any exposure to such a medium. Please do me the honor and feel free to comment. I really want to hear what you have to say about the post.

Trust me. You can hang with the big boys in the big, bad city. You've proven your worth time and time again. I know it!

Lucy: no, I've not gone so far as to give out my email address..

I am not one to talk too much about weighty matters. I read your post about metabigotry, as did many other people, I see. You received lots of comments.

I'll have to get back to you after I digest it.

Hello...I was reading your blog entry for the 31st July about the Rose of Sharon. It's name is an Althea Rose of Sharon. It's a double. Altheas were my Mother's favorite flowering bush. I have a lilac colored one in my yard. Love your blog!
