A beautiful day in May

Tomorrow is our 21st wedding anniversary. Ralph and I tied the proverbial knot on May 1o, 1986. And we are still going strong.

Sometimes it seems like a long time ago. We got engaged six months after we met.
How did we meet, you ask? Through a dating service, long before the Internet and whatever goes on today. I have no clue.
All I know is back then if you liked the person the agency matched you up with, you'd call up and say you wanted to go "on hold." I did that soon after we met. I never called back to take myself off hold.
And apparently I never looked back!

Happy almost anniversary. 21 years, WOW! I'll be sure to sing you, and Homer, a song tomorrow.

What kind of agency was this? Did your parents know that you were signing up with an agency...and if so, how did they feel about it?

Happy early 21st anniversary. What a wonderful story about how you met. I assume you both filled out questionnaires when signing up for the dating service...were you both honest in your answers or were there surprises when you met? Either way, it was obviously a match made in heaven.

Lynn: thanks!! You're sweet to sing a song.
It was a dating service, the second one I had joined when I was in my 20s and getting rather lonely. My dad was no longer with us, but my mother knew, and she definitely was concerned I would meet a creep posing as a nice guy. But I met lots of interesting people (it was expensive to join so I think that sifted out some of the whack jobs).

Joan: Of course Ralph and I were honest! A leopard doesn't change its spots. There were no surprises. We just clicked. Thanks for the wishes.

Mimi: Welcome to my world. I just visited your blog. Very nice and fun to read. I'm clearly just a beginner but I guess we all have to start somewhere. ;-)

Empress: How do I do a Thursday Thirteen?

Michael: Thanks for the wishes, old chap. I am waiting for you to complete your assignment......

Cindy: Merci beaucoup.
