Now I don't know what is going on, but some of the photos I've been working with have automatically been going into oil painting mode. Like this one ^ . What's up with that?

What photo program are you using? The ones that I have that are for oil paintings just don't look like oil paintings at all.
As for tomatoes, a few of mine are actually starting to ripen up but it's still a very slow process - very slow!
