The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun wrote a note, and posted it on the apple tray:
"Take only ONE. God is watching."
At the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies.
A child had written a note, "Take all you want. God is watching the apples."

Lynn, I wasn't able to comment on your blog, so I am commenting here.
It's good to whine, and you have every right. Some people know how to take advantage of others, don't they?
I wasn't a Scout leader, but I was there to help out, and I went on camping trips with the girls.
Does Twelve want to continue with Scouting for another year? Or do you think she has reached the end of doing Scouts?
Michael: I know what you mean. Their brains aren't tired I guess.
Twelve wants to continue Girl Scout activities...only without the other girls. She wants to continue to attend events...and eventually earn her Gold Award. Both of these things are possible, I just need to register her as a "Juliette" (that means a girl who doesn't belong to a troop). However, for next year, we are re-registering as a troop, because Twelve and I (o.k. mostly I) raised alot of money for the troop by selling cookies, and we (really I) want to be able to use that money to help pay for some of the Girl Scout activities that we want to attend, next year.
If I had more moms like you in the troop, I wouldn't feel so stressed out. I bet you were/are great to have around:~)
Lynn: I just did a little to help. I enjoyed being around the girls, but I didn't want the full responsibility you have taken on. I give you credit.
Did you do Brownnies with Twelve as well?
Yes. I did my leader training when Twelve was in first grade. Then stepped up to the plate as the troop leader (both other leaders dropped out)and have been the leader from Brownies, Juniors, and now Cadettes. (sigh)
