* * * Springtime shots

Last week I posted a photo of a single rhododendron blossom. Today I post the entire rhododendron, which is now in full bloom. Woo hoo!

According to Wikipedia the word rhododendron is from the Greek, rhodos, meaning "rose", and dendron, "tree."

The sad thing about rhoddies is that, like azaleas, they just don't last for very long. It's too bad someone can't come up with a long-blooming breed!

Aren't Rhodos gorgeous, Patti? I went to Planting Fields Arboretum and they were all over the place in wonderful bloom! :)
