Shadow Shot Sunday ~ winter

Winter Sunset, February 2014

I shared this photo on Facebook and got quite a few comments and 'likes' so I thought I'd re-purpose it today as a shadow shot.

And to continue the wintry theme, a snowy shot from this week:

Brrr.....

Yard Art

Another one of my garden friends.
He has weathered many a winter in the front yard. He's a tough turtle, I'd say.
I took this shot last spring. He is still there in the same spot. ; -)

Ruby Tuesday ~ Christmas fun

See how happy Ralph looks to meet Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. He doesn't like posing for photos, but I think this one came out well. His sister, Sharon, looks like she is enjoying Santa's visit too.

I also had "fun" meeting Santa that night, but he got a bit too close. He sat on my lap! Yikes.
I think someone in the family got a photo of that. At least I hope so.

Shadow Shot Sunday ~ Christmas edition

I caught a shadow without even trying as I snapped a shot of our daughter opening a Yankee Swap gift on Christmas Eve.
That was at the aforementioned party that Santa visited, with those "invisible" reindeer of his.

Visit our hostess, Tracy, at Hey Harriet to see many more shadow shots and to join the fun.

P.S. I was so anxious to use my new point and shoot Canon A1100IS that I didn't check the shutter speed. That's why the photos came out so grainy, Kid Two said. Thankfully he fixed it.

Ruby Tuesday * repost *

Ruby Tuesday ~ Christmas angels

Our daughter in 1994. I spy a new Polly Pocket there!

Our son on Christmas Eve in 1996. He looks rather scared, but maybe he's just anticipating Santa Claus' arrival.

My mother's "retro" angel candlesticks from the 1950s. They weren't retro at the time though. They were up-to-date decorations.
If only I had gotten some red taper candles to put in the holders to add to my Ruby Tuesday post.
But alas, my holiday disorganization continues.

Thanks, Mary!

Sending wishes to all for a Merry Christmas and a Happy Hanukkah ~

Ruby Tuesday ~ cartoon characters

It's good ol' Charlie Brown, seen here two years ago but he's still the same today. Actually he never changes.

This Homer Simpson in a Santa suit is in our neighbor's yard.
I tried but it really is difficult to get a good photo at night.
D'oh.

Visit our hostess, Mary T, to see many more photos featuring a little or a lot of red.

Looking at the Sky ~

I have to get out more. I've gotten so many blog posts out of one street fair my mother and I went to last weekend that I can hardly believe it.
I snapped this as we were leaving the harvest festival. I think it came from a booth decoration. I don't think it was a bunch of balloons that accidentally flew away from a little child's hand.
That would be sad if it were the case, wouldn't it?

Ruby Tuesday ~ our Linus

My son snapped these photos of Linus peeking out of the vinyl fun house he and his brother, Rigby, use (occasionally) while I was working this afternoon. I was on the phone and didn't even know there was an important photo shoot going on behind me. haha

Hope you enjoyed.

Looking at the Sky

I took this in April, when Ralph and I took a brief daycation to the beach in West Haven, Ct.
Haven't taken any photos this week, so I went to our archives. Gazebos always make for a scenic shot, don't they?

Happy Friday!
