Hi ~

I've been away from blogland for what seems like a long time. Needed a break from computer play time, I suppose. I'm at the computer for work for many hours a day, and sometimes you just gotta say enough is enough and walk away.

At least I do!

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Sometimes you just have to get away from it all

... and Rigby is an expert at it.
He likes to put his nose straight into the arm of the chair when he is napping. I don't know how he breathes in this position. But he does.

A Saturday smile

Ode to our felines

I call them “The Brothers Furr,”

But they’re also known as “The Boys.”

Although they often purr,

They rarely make much noise.

They’ve nearly destroyed our house,

And have yet to catch a mouse.

They never fail to lighten my mood,

Even while begging for food.

I guess it’s really not fair,

To complain of dander in the air.

Picking up fur is my task each day,

But I don’t let it get in the way.

For these cats reside in my heart,

And I promise them we never will part.

Ghosts among us?

My bureau chief at the newspaper, Michelle, has just published a novel about apparitions and things that might go bump in the night.
I'm thinking it might be something blog friend and part-time ghost hunter Linda, Duchess of Norwich-Upon-Thames, would be interested in reading.
That's because on Halloween night Linda, her friend Amy and I visited the Sterling Opera House in Derby, Ct.
It's a place where spirits soar, or, as many folks believe, actually reside.

Here's the link to Michelle's new blog about her book. I urge you to check it out.

Shadow Shot Sunday ~ snowy edition

* There's snow place like inside when it's cold outside *

I had to dig back into the February 2008 archives to find this semi-shadow shot. I hope it passes the shadow test! The black and white fur in the window belongs to our kitty cat Rigby.

Visit our hostess, Tracy, at Hey Harriet to join the shadowy fun.

Shadow Shot Sunday

It's that winsome Rigby again! I took this last year, but it still works for a Shadow Shot Sunday post, I'd say.

Sepia scenes ~ featuring Rigby

When in doubt, photograph your pet.

= ^. .^ =

I admit I do post a lot of photos of Rigby, but what can I say, he's photogenic!

Sunday morning with Rigby

I'm not sure if Rigby is in favor of the House Democrats' health-care plan or not.
Are you as sick of those people in Washington as I am?
Woops, that's getting political, and I try to stay away from that here.
~
I'm preparing a Sunday School lesson. It's about Moses and the Pharaoh this week.
Fortunately I have my daughter here to help me. I hope the little children (ages 4-7) are well behaved. Someday if they are not paying attention and disrespecting the teacher (me) I'm going to send them back out into church to sit with their parents. bwahahaha

Have a great Sunday!

I've been busy. The cats? Not so much

How does a cat get its own way?

With friendly purrsuasion.

What a life.
~
When in doubt, post photos of kitty cats. That's my new motto. =^. .^=

Rigby times 2

Rigby is so black and white that when I use the black and white application one can hardly see any difference from the color picture of him.

See what I mean?

I wonder how he would look in sepia?

Ruby Tuesday = ^. .^ =

The 3 Rs - Ruby, red, and Rigby.

It looks like Spring, it smells like Spring...

It must be Spring!
I seem to be in a yellow mode. It wasn't intentional. I need to find some other seasonal colors to photograph.

Happy Saturday ~ let the sun shine!

Rigby gets into the act

Right after I posted the pictures of Linus (below) and turned to get up, what did I see?
Why it was Rigby, looking up the chimney!
I think they know that Santa is on the way, don't you?

Creative Photo #15 - Week 3

Rigby is, as Ralph often says, a knucklehead. He thinks he can get at the leaves swirling around the patio on a windy day. He keeps trying and bumping into the window. He's doing that as I type this.

I liked this photo I took this morning because his sweet face is visible in the reflection.

It's my entry into Roger's Creative Photography contest this week.
To see more photos that are much more creative than this, visit Roger at Idaho Photo, and click on the Creative Photo tab.
