Self-revelation: Part 2

I've only had one pedicure in my life, thanks to a gift certificate, and now I think it's time for another.
Yes, I'm talking about toenails again (see previous post). I enjoyed the pedicure I had. It was quite relaxing.

The problem is I remember hearing about someone whose toes fell off or something when she got an infection after a pedicure.

Should I ignore that report, spend the $$ and get a pedicure?
Or should I just use those foam toe separators and do it myself in the privacy of my home?

As someone who has never had a pedicure in her entire life I can only answer this question with a big old - I don't know!!

Good luck whichever you decide! Just for some extra pampering, I'd go for the professional pedicure, I am sure you deserve it.

personally i go once a month for a pedicure. i love the heck out of them!!! but if you are at all worried take you own equipment, you know, the hard sponge thingy and the four sides file and i even take my own polish. the metal stuff is sterilized in those thingys so that should be okay. make sure it's CLEAN!!! and enjoy!

Linda: You should try it.

Bee: I will enjoy when I get around to it.

Patti - When I suggested you break out of your shell I did not mean for you to write about toenails!
Now I know this is traumatic for you but this is not the kind of dirt we want.

And yes, dear Patti, go for a glorious manicure first. You will never ever look back. You're talking to a woman who hides her hands if her nails are not perfect. There is nothing like being pampered this way. And you so deserve to do this for yourself. It is the one thing I scrimp and save for each month if money is tight. It makes me feel feminine and polished (pun intended).

Now can you please change the subject and stop talking about your feet?
Sigh.

Dont' make me come up there.
I know the way ya know.....

I've never had a pedicure, but I've had many massages. I just love when they massage my feet. I think that the massage of my feet is the part of the pedicure that I would most look forward to.

I've heard similar reports about toenails getting fungus and falling off and eeewwww...that just grosses me out. If you decide to have one, please be sure to report back, so we'll know.

Go for it! I've only had 2 pedicures so far but they have been so relaxing.....weird at first...but then relaxing.

Mimi: Sigh. I'll try.

Lynn: a foot massage is part of a pedicure, so you were half-way there

Amanda: thanks for the support and stop by again

I had a few pedicures when I had diabetes, but not lately. I get my nails done every two weeks and have gone to the same place for 15 years so I trust them. I would recommend you check out the place and make sure everything they use is sterilized.
