Shadow Shot Sunday ~ after the reception

Shadows sometimes appear at night, as I found out Thursday when we were leaving a Valley Arts Council opening reception.
The guy on the right is our friend and arts council president Rich DiCarlo. And behind him is a shadow of yours truly taking the shot.

Ralph and I both have photos of food in the food-themed 'Delicious!' exhibit.
A good-sized crowd turned out - and it was free pizza for all!

It was a fun night.

Ruby Tuesday ~ at the pizzeria

I have a conglomeration of reds spotted at a downtown pizza and pasta restaurant during Saturday's harvest festival along Main Street. My mother and I needed some lunch so we stopped in to eat our slices of pizza in comfort.
This friendly (and blue-ribbon winning) chap welcomed us into the eatery. Sometimes his head moved and his eyes rolled around. Creeeeeepy.

He's under a red umbrella advertising Bud and the sign next to him has red letters in it. The banner behind him has bright orange-red on the Jack o' lantern's face, and some guy standing there is wearing a red shirt. All in all, a perfect ruby find, as my husband would say.

Ruby Tuesday ~ got pizza?

Actually when I took this picture Saturday at an aforementioned birthday party I wasn't even thinking about a Ruby Tuesday photo.
Or was I doing so unconsciously? Hmmm...

What's better than pizza and cupcakes?

That was the menu for a first birthday party we attended Saturday for our niece's baby (see pizza boxes piled behind her!). Her aunt baked the birthday girl her own pink and white cake to shmoosh and enjoy. And she did. There were quite a few little ones under age 5 at the restaurant, which made it a bit chaotic but a lot of fun. Ah, the next generation is upon us!
Here's the birthday girl with her proud (and young) grandfather:

Nothing like being able to dote on your first grandchild! And dote he does.
