Creative photography #10

This lovely pink flower is on a weedy-looking (to me anyway) tree next to the garage at the house my mother is renting.
I like pink, so I photographed it a few weeks back.

Today I fooled around a bit with the oil painting effect.

And I tried sepia tone, and made the contrast more contrast-y (that's a photography term). But now it looks like B&W. Don't know why.

Here I decided to shoot the works and invert the colors.

And then I tried GLOW.

Thanks go once again to Roger at Idaho Photo for hosting the contest. Join the fun!

I just have to tell you that, when I first looked at your photo, the thing that immediately came to mind was a flamingo. Very cool photo and very cool effects!

What an interesting looking flower to begin with. I wonder what it is?

I think I'm sitting out on the contest this week as I just don't think I have anything that really qualifies as "creative" depending on what definition of "creative" one is using! After reading the judges' comments last week on what they're looking for, I don't think I have it - at least not anything in my current collection of stuff!

Good luck to you!

Very pretty flower Patti! I like the different effects you have displayed to. My favorite would have to be the black and white.

I know what you mean Linda. Very nice pic. I do have to say in this one I like the original flower pic best. I like pink too.

I have to agree. Though I like all the effects, the original stands out for me. I really like the pink with the little green.
The flower is very interesting to look at.

Thanks, everyone, for not saying I went crazy on the effects!

I just do this contest for fun, and on second reading of some of what the judges are looking for, I feel like I may throw in the towel.

I love the PINK!

You talked me into not throwing in the towel just yet so I expect you not to either!

I think there are so many definitions of creativity and you are most definitely being creative when you play with the different colors and tints and all. I don't see how that can't be considered creative! Of course, I'm not a judge either, tho'!

Still, you're doing this for fun and if you're having fun with it then I say go for it! Who knows? Maybe I'll start my own little meme called "Fun Photos on Fridays" or something!

personally, I like the original shot...

Never throw in a towel!

Art is in the eye of the beholder, contests are but one dimension. Hell Martin Scorcese didn't win an Oscar for 40 years!! WTF!?

I like the original and then the oil painting.

I love that you play and experiment and I look forward to what you come up with each week.
