Outside the front door this morning.

See more shadowy pix at Hey Harriet, hosted by our awesome Aussie friend Tracy.

That first picture looks like little frozen arms reaching up towards the sun from the railing!

Linda is right, the first pic does look like little frozen arms reaching up! And the icicles are gorgeous -- even though it does look sooooo cold, the sunlight is delightful! Really great shadow shots for the day, Patti! Hope your weekend is going well! Stay warm!

Love those icicles with the bright blue sky in the background! Those icicles could be dangerous if a large one snapped off in hit you in the head! I'm wondering if that happens often. I guess clever people wouldn't stand beneath them :)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend Patti!

Yes, what Linda said. Brrr. It's cold enough for snow and ice here, but thankfully we had no precipitation... just freezing cold temperatures.

Hope your day is a happy one.

Sharp icicles hang from the eaves
As though they were fresh-gathered sheaves
Of corn or of wheat—
Oh, give us some heat,
And make the ice flutter like leaves!
