Hi ~

I've been away from blogland for what seems like a long time. Needed a break from computer play time, I suppose. I'm at the computer for work for many hours a day, and sometimes you just gotta say enough is enough and walk away.

At least I do!

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Major Internet provider probs...

prohibit Patti from posting, blog visiting. Patti is losing her proverbial mind.

Every function takes a good five minutes. Hoping to get it fixed SOON.

Sepia scenes

For some reason I was unable to upload this photo earlier today. It just wouldn't pop into place. I must have tried five or six different times, but it wouldn't cooperate. I was frustrated to say the least, and I imagine I'm once again late to the sepia party.
I took this on Christmas Eve at our niece's new home.

I wish Sue and her wonderful husband all the best in their new digs.

To see more sepia-fied photos, visit our hostess, Mary T.

We have a new monitor and the computer will be here soon

We have a 19-inch monitor as of yesterday. Now I'm actually glad the other computer gave up the ghost two weeks ago. This is a nice new toy for me and Ralph. Photos look great on it.
And this new Apple keyboard has such a light touch. It's almost effortless.

Woo hoo!

Computer gremlins stole part of my post

Last evening when it was my turn on the computer I was putting together a scintillating blog post with photos and such. When I was almost done, the last third of it disappeared. I didn't feel like continuing and redoing at that point, so I turned off the computer.

It was about our local hero from the Revolutionary War, Gen. David Humphreys, who was aide-de-camp to George Washington and later a successful industrialist.

I shall finish it later.

That's all from here. Happy Monday ~

Technical difficulties...

were experienced this weekend.

I actually felt my brain working overtime Saturday morning as I tried to do my normal stuff using a Macintosh Power Book instead of our Gateway, which was in need of a part.
Hallelujah and saints be praised - the part arrived via the U.S. Postal Service this morning, and my son fixed the Gateway for me.

I feel better now. Call me old fashioned, but I can't get used to using a laptop.

Slice of life

We had a fun get-together at our pastor's house yesterday. There were 33 of us, which is a lot for our congregation. Some folks were guests.
We met a woman who is a New York City native and she told us she used to read Shakespeare and Chaucer aloud to get rid of her accent. And she succeeded!
Ralph and I thought that was pretty cool.

In an unrelated development, Kid Two's geek skills are starting to pay off for him. This weekend he raked in $175 for working on computers. (Some was for past work.)
Our boy is earning money and building a reputation among friends and family. Today he will be making another house call.

Kid One is working another full day today, which is a good thing.
