I now understand our cat's situation this time of year. We are finding tufts of his feline fluff all over the house.
Although I knew it was going to happen, now that my hair is actually coming out in clumps I'm getting a bit freaked out.
Oh well...it will come back. I keep telling myself that.

It will all come back, and it may be entirely different texturally, not necessarily a bad thing.
Honey, try to think of it as letting all the cancer out to make way for a cancer-free you!
Although I have not personally gone through what you're fighting, I do believe that after getting the diagnosis and reacting with all of the completely normal and expected reactions of disbelief, fears, sadness, doubts, etc., I would then act by telling the doctor to cut it all out and kill all the cancer cells anyway he could, whatever it took. I'm specifically remembering the Ann Jillian movie in which she played herself fighting cancer.
I know that is exactly what you are doing. And I'm so glad you're sharing your story with us.
How about a nice Dolly Parton wig?
Great big hugs xo
i know it's easy for me to say but it will grow back
and as Betty said it may come back totally different and you can find all these fun new ways to style it
you are after all, as I am, nothing if not a slave to fashion ;)
I've been catching up on your posts
Happy Belated Anniversary
and wow! to your flower photo
big hugs Patti
you're my hero :)
Hi, Pattie, bj from Sweet Nothings here.
I've just spent some time reading more of your blog.
2 of my best friends had breast cancer...both lost a breast from it but they are both survivors.:)
They both said losing their hair was the hardest part...I've heard other ladies say the same thing.
Sooo, I just wanted you to know that I think it must be a very natural feeling for a woman to not want to lose her hair. YAY for really great wigs...and nothing any cuter than a bandana wrapped around, big ole cute earrings and a pair of awesome sunglasses !!! "Hello, Mizz Hollywood"!! :))))
I am praying for you, Patti...and several others that are fighting this same, evil battle. Your bubbly personality is going to be a HUGE plus in your COMPLETE recovery!
xoxo, bj
I'd offer to shave my head in a show of solidarity but I get the feeling that no one wants to see me walking around hairless - though if I knew it would grow back in without the gray I'd do it!
I know that this part of the process is probably very, very hard for you but know that those of us who love you (and there are many) do so not because of your hair but because of who you are as a person and we don't care whether you wear a ballcap, a Dolly Parton wig, or just your skin. Think of your head as a badge of honor and courage in your cancer fight! We will!
