Ruby Tuesday

Tuesday is back, and so am I. I can't believe that five weeks have flown by since last I participated in Ruby Tuesday.
My excuse is the July heat and humidity made me sluggish..lazy..too hot to post.
haha. I hope August brings us some more bearable weather.

So, I went out this afternoon and found these pretty red doors on an Episcopal church about two miles from our house.
Christ Church was built in the late 1890s. It is made of Ansonia granite and New Jersey gray stone in the English gothic style, according to its Web site. Construction was completed in 1896, in time for Christmas services to be held there.

When I got home I took this shot of a flower from a plant a friend gave me. Unfortunately I don't know what kind of flower it is. I haven't planted the plant; it's still in the pot.

See lots more photos featuring a little or a lot of red at Mary T's Work of the Poet blog.

Nice choices for today and I'm glad you're back. We have, and continue to have, the same weather!
And is it just me, but it seems every Episcopal church has a red door? Nicely done!

Ansonia has its stylish stone charms! And nicely captured!

An unusual colour for a church door! Our August weather is lousy too.....gales and icy winds!

I love seeing red doors on churches. The colour is so welcoming.

Yes, July was hot and muggy. Glad you're back, Patti!

That is a lovely stone church, and the doors are a treat to the eye. I like it when someone has the will to go out of the box like this. Thank you for the details about the church. I am from just 100kms south of Rinkly Rimes and our weather is just nasty at the moment. But, never fear, spring is on the way!!

Great shot of the church. I think the flower belongs to the Celosia family.

Hi Patti!!!!

Glad you're back.
This church reminds me of one near downtown here. I should take a pic. Lovely composition!
The flower is very pretty. Wish I could ID it for you.

We just got back from my daughter's where they had triple digit temps.

The church is beautiful with its red doors, they set off the stone work very well!
Thanks for visiting my daylilies; I'm farther north than you, and these are the old fashioned lilies, so that may be why mine are blooming but yours have finished. I give mine almost no care other than weeding them out when they get carried away!
