More musings on life and cancer

This was the scene Saturday from Fort Nathan Hale Park in New Haven, looking toward the Elm City's skyline. The wind was blowing and it was really chilly there.
In contrast to the cold temperatures, I snapped this photo as I basked in the warmth of a true friend.

Linda O., author of Are We There Yet? and Duchess of Norwich-Upon-Thames (or NUT) treated me to a fun Saturday afternoon to get my mind off my mastectomy tomorrow.

She wrote an incredibly detailed post about our fun here. If you read it you'll feel as if you were with us. We took photos, ate lunch and had a lot of laughs!

Below Linda is taking a photo of the beach and stuff. Boy that lighthouse looks big!
And finally we have Duchess Linda in the IKEA parking lot holding an aardvark, or dog - or wolf as her daughter Jamie called it - that she paid 49 cents for at IKEA. As a bonus we learned some Swedish as we shopped. We had a grand time.

She gave me a cancer card..leave it to good old H******K to come up with a card featuring cancer. Too funny.

Thanks, Linda, for everything.

Oh and now you're going to make me cry!

I had a really good time yesterday and I was more than happy to try to take your mind off of tomorrow's upcoming procedure even if it was darned cold and windy and that stupid gate was locked when it shouldn't have been! Oh, and Jamie tells me that aardvarks do NOT have teeth and the sot barnslig I brought back to her most definitely HAS teeth. What? Aardvarks don't chew their ants before they swallow them?? How gauche!

I may be spending tomorrow doing my usual 16 hours of dispatching ambulances but trust me when I say that I will be with you in both mind and spirit as my thoughts invariably turn towards Derby.

Hugs my friend and be strong - you CAN and you WILL beat this!

Oh, and yes, it's a big lighthouse when it can make me look small ... well, sort of small .., small in a still fat sort of way!

Nice to see I'm not the only one that sneaks in a photograph every once in awhile, too!

I've just been catching up on previous posts (I've been so out of the loop lately) and discovered your news. I'm so very sorry Patti but I do believe your good spirits and positive outlook will keep you well and safe. I am sorry for all that you are going through right now and do hope for the very best outcome for you. You're in my thoughts. Everything will be ok. I just know it! Love Tracy xo
