Shadow Shot Sunday

Today's photo features another cameo appearance by my bloggy friend Linda, author of the always interesting Are We There Yet?

I took this as she was shooting photos at the covered bridge in West Cornwall, Ct. I didn't dare to go down the steps toward the river, even though they were concrete and looked sturdy enough. Linda is clearly more adventurous than I!

We had a fun foliage trip, full of laughs and leaves, but no lunch..We did stop for dinner at a diner. ;-)

See many more shadows from across the globe at our hostess Tracy's Hey Harriet blog.

The mighty Housatonic River, and Linda too, are covered in a dramatic shade. It was positively balmy in those October days, unlike the cold of today...

Nice shadow and great composition, I like the balance in this.

Terrific shadow shot for the day and I love your composition, too! Sounds like you had a fun day! It's cold here today, but we do have some sun for a change and it's wonderful! Enjoy your weekend, Patti!

I loved how you framed this... with Linda in the corner! That water looks pretty cold, and like the current was plenty strong!

What a great shot, Patti...

The house in the background is to die for. Imagine, living near the bank of a river?

Fantastic shot!

Happy SSS & TC,

What a great shot. It does look very cold, and that house is stunning.

What a beautiful place to live.

I like how the shadow so perfectly slices through the middle of the image! Reminds me of an origami fold! A lovely photo. Enjoy the rest of your weekend Patti )

DREAM SCENE

They went to the river to shoot;
Their journey it did bear much fruit:
The swift-running stream
(Photographer’s dream),
Was playing itself like a flute.

Nicely done river ShadowShot. I don't blame you for not venturing down the steps....probably slippery and who wants to fall into a probably chilly river?! Happy SSS.

I remember this! And they were quite sturdy steps if I remember correctly so I don't think there was much danger of me tumbling into the Housatonic! I'm sure if I had, though, you would have gotten one heck of a shot for your blog then!

Compared to what we've been having for temperatures lately, I sure am missing those October days we had. I hope this isn't the way the rest of the winter is going to go - my heating budget can definitely NOT afford it and one can only wear so many layers!

And I don't know why we didn't eat lunch ... too busy not finding foliage, perhaps?
