Oops...Fat Tuesday...I should be ashamed for not remembering. Of course when I worked, every day seemed like Fat Tuesday since the workroom was always filled with all sorts of homemade and store-bought goodies. Yum!
OK...having never seen a paczki, I searched on the Internet and found several images. OMG...they look scrumptuous and BIG so I'm impressed with your total! I have to know...what was the winning number???

What in the heck is a "competitive eating event" and what in the heck do you eat? We never had such events where I worked so I'm absolutely clueless.
Do you get to take home the leftovers?
Joan - Guess you just are not as sophisticated as us folks in the Northeast. I will be stuffing my face with donuts. It's Fat Tuesday, you know.
Lynn - I'm bringing Kid Two so there won't be any leftovers. ;-)
Since you'll have the opportunity to stuff your face with donuts, bring plenty of antacids with you...just in case. Doubt Kid Two will need them.
Lynn - I survived the contest without any antacids. Stomach of steel, I guess.

Joan - I write for a daily paper. As the saying goes, "anything for a story."
Hopefully I still have some dignity.
Actually they are not donuts, but paczki - like triple-size donuts.
I'm anxiously awaiting the results. Will we see photos???
don't know if I want to blow my cover Joan
How many did you down?!? I must know!
Sarah-1 7/8-I couldn't stuff in the last piece of the second one

Joan - the winning number was 12! A dozen of those fat-laden pastries.
(the time limit was 5 minutes)
Note to friends: I cannot post a new nlog entry. I'm locked out and the password, etc. help that I checked out is not helping.
P.S. I meant to write "blog" and not nlog.
Typo from being too tired...
How can anyone eat 12 of those things??? I am impressed with 1 and 7/8...How many did Kid Two eat...please don't say 12!lol
Yikes...12!?!? Who could possibly eat a dozen of these...and in 5 minutes!?!?!?!
P.S. I hope you get your blog problem solved...I miss your postings and was getting worried.
Lynn - Kid Two had one, but he did not compete. He was there for moral support.
I lucked out that it is school vacation week.
Joan - The guy who ate 12 of them has won the competition for four consecutive years. Urp!
Thanks for your concern, Joan. I miss my blogging time. :(
To all: A big thanks for not chiding me about the huge amount of CALORIES, SUGAR and GRAMS OF FAT that I consumed.
Blecchhhh.

Joan - Thanks very much for your helpful hints. My problem is solved. And I plan to be very careful with my passwords from now on.
